The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is set to begin today, July 8, 2024, across the country. A total of 570,461 candidates are expected to sit for the exam, according to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The candidates, comprising both school and private candidates, will write the examination in 2,123 centers nationwide. The school candidates include 282,648 males and 286,447 females, while the private candidates include 735 males and 631 females.
The examination will start with English Language today and end with Arabic on Monday, July 15. The candidates will be examined in various subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Ghanaian Language.
WAEC has assured the public that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. Candidates are advised to arrive at their examination centers early and comply with all examination rules and regulations.
