Guinness World Records Denies Chef Smith's Cook-a-thon Achievement

In a shocking turn of events, Guinness World Records (GWR) has denied Chef Smith's claim of holding a world record for the longest cook-a-thon. The denial comes after Chef Smith announced at a press conference in Accra that he had set a new record for the longest cook-a-thon, displaying a certificate that claimed a cook-a-thon duration of 802 hours and 25 minutes, supposedly achieved between February 1st and March 6th, 2024.

GWR clarified that the current record holder is Alan Fisher from Ireland, who achieved a record time of 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds in Matsue, Japan, from September 28 to October 3, 2023. In an email, GWR stated that they had no knowledge of Smith's attempt and he had not submitted any evidence for verification before making his record claim.

The denial has sparked widespread criticism and embarrassment for Chef Smith, with many calling for him to provide evidence of his claim. The situation has been described as a significant embarrassment for Ghana, with Afia Schwarzenegger, a Ghanaian actress and socialite, expressing profound disappointment in Chef Smith.

To add to the drama, Chef Smith was arrested during the press conference announcing his purported achievement, led by Nana Boroo, the brother of Amadia Shopping Centre's owner, along with a group of police officers. The arrest was reportedly due to a breach of contract between Chef Smith and Amadia Shopping Centre, who sponsored his cook-a-thon.

The sponsors have issued a detailed press statement explaining their actions, stating that they had signed a binding three-year contract to support Chef Smith's record-breaking attempt, which was entirely organized and funded by Amadia Shopping Centre. However, attempts to reach Chef Smith regarding the upload progress of videos from the cook-a-thon and the response from GWR had been unsuccessful, leading to the arrest.

The police have taken over the investigation, and Chef Smith is currently in custody. The Ghanaian public is eagerly waiting for Chef Smith to address the latest news from GWR regarding his alleged world record.

In conclusion, the denial of Chef Smith's record claim by GWR has sparked a heated controversy, with many questioning the authenticity of his claim. The situation has led to embarrassment for Ghana and has raised questions about the verification process of record claims. As the investigation continues, the public awaits Chef Smith's response to the allegations.
