A chilling incident of mob justice has left a community in shock, as a young man was lynched by his friends over a disputed amount of GH₵200. The police have launched a manhunt for the suspects involved in the heinous crime.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim, identified as Emmanuel, was attacked and killed by his friends on Sunday evening at Kasoa. The altercation allegedly stemmed from a disagreement over a debt of GH₵200, which Emmanuel was said to have owed one of his friends.
The suspects, whose names have not been released, reportedly attacked Emmanuel with deadly weapons, leaving him with severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police have condemned the brutal act, stating that mob justice has no place in the legal system. "We urge anyone with information about the suspects' whereabouts to come forward," said DSP David Akloru, Kasoa Police Commander. "We will ensure that justice is served and the perpetrators face the full force of the law."
The community is still reeling from the shock, with many calling for swift action against the suspects. "This senseless act of violence must be condemned by all," said a local resident. "We need to learn to resolve our differences peacefully and allow the law to take its course.
The police are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately. The suspects are considered dangerous and should not be approached.
As the investigation continues, the nation is reminded that violence is never an acceptable solution to conflicts. The deceased's family and friends are in mourning, and the community is left to pick up the pieces of a senseless tragedy.
