Nurses and midwives are central to Primary Health Care and are often the first and sometimes the only health professional that people see and the quality of their initial assessment, care and treatment is vital.



 The shortage of nurses in Ghana is due to factors such as low job satisfaction, difficult working conditions, lack of professional advancement, and limited opportunities for skill upgrading. Over 75,000 graduate unemployed nurses and midwives lamenting the lack of employment four years after completing their education, the urgency of their plight is felt across the nation. This, is from a report made by TV3 news, on April 16, 2024. 


 In a public announcement, dated July 26, 2024, signed by the chief director, Alhaji Hafiz Adam, the Ministry of Health wishes to inform the public that, the Ministry of finance has issued financial clearance to recruit 15, 200 nurses and midwives. All qualified applicants are requested to formally apply on the ministry of health online application portal by logging-in onto https://hr.moh.gov.gh and follow the instruction to select the preferred agency under the ministry. 

The recruitment will commence on Monday, 5th August,2024 at 12 noon and the deadline for submission of application is Friday, 23rd August, 2024 at 6pm. 


Note that no payment is to be made for the process.
