Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. B.D.K Agbeko, Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has urged his fellow ministers to boldly speak truth to power and amplify the voices of the marginalized.
Moderator of EPCG |
He made this call during an ordination service for ministerial candidates at the EPCG Bubuashie in Accra.
"I challenge every minister, prophet, and agent of God to start speaking truth to power," he emphasized.
He added that "Bribery, corruption, stealing from state resources, and engaging in destructive activities like galamsey are all wrong."
Rev. Agbeko stressed the importance of honesty and integrity, noting that it's essential to trust those who tell hard truths rather than those who offer flattering words. He pointed out that the enemies of leaders are often those closest to them, who fail to speak truth due to personal benefits or fear of being removed from office.
"Look, Sika mpe dede, just keep quiet and enjoy some," he said, using a local proverb to illustrate the temptation to remain silent for personal gain.
"But when time is over, you'll have something to feed on, God will judge everyone."
The Moderator's powerful message was delivered during a sermon on the theme "Cost of Discipleship." His words serve as a timely reminder to ministers and leaders to prioritize truth, integrity, and accountability.
May the good Lord continue to bless you and your hands work for his grace and mercy to teach us more talent and wisdom about the truth 🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
