After victory comes the disqualification of the two main candidates for the positions of SRC President and Financial Secretary of the Ho Technical University in the persons of Kenneth Botwey and Doe David Dominion few days after they were declared by HTU SRC Electoral Comminsioner.

Weeks after being disqualified by managnent of the school for not obtaining the required CGPA of 3.0 as been stated in the SRC Constitution, the two candidates have taken steps to seek justice in the court of law.

On August 28, 2024, the High Court of Justice in Ho,the capital of Volta Region granted an interim injunction restraining the university's authorities from proceeding with the re-run of the 2024/2025 SRC elections.

The court's decision comes after Kenneth Botwey and Doe David Dominion, filed a motion seeking justice and challenging their disqualification. The plaintiffs argued that the vetting process was flawed and biased, denying them a fair chance after being declared winners and later school authorities declaring their election as null and void.

In granting the interim injunction, the court acknowledged that the applicants had satisfied the requirements and demonstrated potential injustice if the application was not granted. The order restrains the university's authorities, including the Vice-Chancellor, Dean of Students, Registrar, and Electoral Commission, from making any pronouncements or taking steps related to the election re-run.

This development throws the HTU SRC elections into uncertainty, with the court's decision potentially paving the way for a re-evaluation of the disqualification process. The interim injunction will last for ten days, after which it will elapse.
