Former President John Mahama, now leading the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as its flagbearer, has called on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to prepare for a transition of power.

Mahama emphasized the need for a change in leadership due to the severe economic challenges caused by the NPP's mismanagement.

He assured Ghanaians that the NDC is committed to revitalizing the economy and restoring damaged industries. At the NDC's manifesto launch on August 24 at the University of Education, Winneba, Mahama declared, "We, the National Democratic Congress members, have assembled here to declare that this administration's time is over and that it is time for them to step down, and to express our unwavering belief in democratic governance."

Mahama also criticized the NPP for undermining Ghana's democratic progress, saying, "Your vote on December 7 will end the tyranny, it will end the cronyism, the corruption, the hardship, and it will also pave the way for the vision and trustworthiness, that I am going to restore to the Flagstaff House."

He concluded by stating, "This government must begin writing their handing over notes if they have not already started that."

The launch of the NDC manifesto was a successful one.
