Celebrating Leadership and Unity: The 15th Anniversary Launch of Nana Obibiribi Kumi III’s Enthronement

Fifteen years of dedicated leadership, growth, and unity were honored at the grand anniversary launch of Nana Obibiribi Kumi III, the Krontihene of the Santrokofi Traditional Area. The event, held at the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly on February 23, 2025, brought together chiefs, elders, youth, and distinguished guests to commemorate this milestone and reflect on the achievements of the past decade and a half. 



Welcoming the guests to the occasion, the chairman of the clan, Mr. Jeremiah Atti-Kumi, highlighted reasons for the celebration: "We are using this occasion to re-echo the significance of peace that we have enjoyed over the years and are currently enjoying as natives of Santrokofi."
Wading into the discourse, he highlighted some pivotal roles played since his enstoolment on 27th March 2010 and to urge the upcoming chiefs to know that there are good and better opportunities that we benefit from when the chieftancy institution is properly handled and managed.

A Legacy of Leadership and Unity  
With the theme "Fifteen Years of Good Leadership and Togetherness: The Way Forward," the anniversary launch emphasized the importance of unity in driving community development. Nana Obibiribi Kumi III, in his address, reminded the people that "we are all one people with a common destiny," urging community members to continue fostering peace, collaboration, and growth.

Reflecting on his journey since his enthronement, he expressed deep gratitude to his predecessors and the ancestors whose efforts laid the foundation for today's progress. He acknowledged the support of the people, stating that "without followers, there can not be leadership." His message reinforced the need for mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared vision for a brighter future. 

A Call for Development: The Educational Endowment Fund

One of the key highlights of the event was the launch of an Educational Endowment Fund aimed at supporting academic pursuits within the Santrokofi and Balabitoo communities. The chief called on all members, both home and abroad, to contribute to this initiative, ensuring that future generations have access to quality education and opportunities for success. 

He emphasized that education is the foundation of sustainable development and that investing in young people will shape the community’s future. "The way forward is to support each other in unity so that the clan will remain stronger and formidable for the present and future generations," he noted. 

A Message of Togetherness from the Chairman for the Occasion  

The chairman for the occasion, Nana Odabra Brekuate III, Krontihene of Santrokofi Benua, highlighted the importance of togetherness and unity, which he said helps in building a community. He therefore called on all citizens of Santrokofi to work in unity and ensure that they join hands in developing projects for the community.

Preserving Peace and Tradition 

Beyond celebrating leadership, the anniversary launch also served as a reminder of the importance of maintaining peace and upholding cultural values. Nana Obibiribi Kumi III urged the youth to avoid actions and behaviors that could disrupt unity, stressing the significance of responsible communication and respect for traditions. 

"Our wars today are not against each other but against poverty. Let us work together to build a prosperous future for our people," he declared, encouraging every citizen to contribute positively to their community’s progress. 

A Momentous Celebration

The event was filled with cultural displays, speeches, and a strong sense of community pride. Chiefs, elders, and guests shared their reflections on the growth and impact of leadership in Santrokofi over the past 15 years. The atmosphere was one of joy, appreciation, and a renewed commitment to unity and progress. 

The launch was also used to unveil the clan's symbols, which signify the power and authority of the Kronti division of Santrokofi.

As the celebration concluded, Nana Obibiribi Kumi III reassured his people of his continued dedication to their well-being and development. He called on all members of the clan to remain steadfast in their collective mission, believing that the next phase of their journey would be even more remarkable.
